The Saltford Santa Dash comprises of two community fun run events raising money in aid of local charities. Anyone can take part and no previous experience is necessary - we even provide a training programme for novices. The emphasis is on fun and a medal is awarded to each participating runner. Pre-race registration is required. Full event details are available below.

In brief, there two Santa Dash events:


1. Mini Santa Dash (up to 11 years old)

2. Adult Santa Dash (12-15 year old runners must be accompanied by an adult)

Community Fundraising

The aim of the Saltford Santa Dash is to raise funds for charities which have local links (Saltford/Keynsham) and support young people.

The 2016 Saltford Santa Dash raised over £10,000 for the benefit of Butterflies Haven. Many thanks and congratulations to all who took part and donated. 

For the 2017 event  we ran for The Jessie May Children's Hospice at Home 

You raised over £12,000 .... Many, many thanks to all who donated and supported this great charity.

This charity provides hospice at home care and support for youngsters and their families in the BANES and greater Bristol area. Jessie May nurses provide 

vital respite care, emotional support, end of life care and bereavement support. their team also provide family events that help create treasured memories.

We have made the following announcements via Facebook

1. Questions: Please use our e mail address to ask questions (rather than Facebook) so that they go to the right team member.

2. Registration. There is a restriction on the number of main Santa Dash runners we can take. Please register earlier rather than later so as not to be disappointed. To register here 

3. Race numbers are now being posted out 2nd class post.

Clubs entering teams

Is your club taking part in the Santa Dash?  

You may be a member of a running, netball, hockey, football, rugby or some other kind of clubs. Why not enter a "team" to run along together?

Celebrity Guest

We are delighted announce that Bob Crampton, ITV West Country Weatherman, will be attending on the 3rd December and will start the adult race at 11am.

Santa suit collection

Santa Suits are provided within the cost of registration. 

These Santa Suits will be available for collection from 20th November. They must be collected from specified venues. For details and instructions relating to collection of these suits please click  here

The two community fun run events are as follows - for more detail see "About" section:

Mini Santa Dash (up to 11 years old).

Timing: Sunday 3rd December 2017 @ 10am.  

Location: Saltford Sports & Social club ground, Wedmore Road,Saltford. BS31 3BY.

Event: Fun run around a marked track within the Saltford Sports Association grounds.

Dress: Santa outfits (available within the entry price).

Entry fee: £6 (includes a Santa suit and medal).

Other: All donations gratefully received via entry form or sponsorship form.

Adult Santa Dash (12 years and over)

Timing: Sunday 3rd December 2017 @ 11am. 

Location: Saltford Sports & Social Club ground, Wedmore Road, Saltford. BS31 3BY. 

Event: A 5 mile fun run around the back streets of Saltford - marshals in attendance.

Dress: Santa outfits mandatory (available within entry price).

Entry fee: £14 (includes a santa suit and medal).

Charity Donations: We have kept the entry fee low to encourage as many runners as possible. The santa suits and medals are included in the price. However we would be most grateful for any donations and runner sponsorship given for the benefit of our valued local charity Jessie May (Children's Hospice at Home).
